Alfonso Cuarón and the colony that inspired him to create Roma.

The director, screenwriter, and film producer Alfonso Cuarón is one of the most important men of the moment in Mexico and the world, winner of several international film awards such as the Oscars and the Golden Globes
and nominated for many others.

The filmmaker has commented that his last film was inspired by his childhood, in which he lived in the colony of the same name, Rome.

This place of the city of Mexico is historical and one of the most centric and quoted of the city.

This colony is one of the first subdivisions with all the necessary services, it was planned as a high class colony and takes back much of the style of the European streets.

Being home to the high society of the city, many buildings were built by great architects and converted into monuments, are considered a national patrimony so their owners are obliged along with the government to keep them in excellent condition.

According to legend, this place gets its name when an important Italian priest states that this area of the city reminds him of Rome, Italy.
